Buckner Fitness Center Hosts Annual Dirty Shoe Run

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska?Military spouses walk with children during the Dirty Shoe Run at the Buckner Physical Fitness Center running track on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, April 1, 2014. The Dirty Shoe Run is an event that welcomes service members, spouses and Department of Defense employees to run recreationally. Alex Flores, 19, a lifeguard at the Elmendorf Fitness Center, took first place as the first male to finish; and Amanda Sands, 25, spouse of Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Sands with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, took first place among females.
