Can you hear me Alaska Shield
Spc. Joel A. Resler, with the 59th Signal Battalion sets up an AN/TSC-156 Phoenix satellite here during Alaska Shield 14, April 2, 2014. The 59th was tasked to reestablish communications after a black-out occurred during the exercise. Alaska Shield 14 is an exercise that involves federal, state, local and military agencies, designed to test response and coordination efforts during a disaster and is modeled after the 1964 earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated Alaska.
