Arctic Edge 14

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - The Elmendorf Fitness Center is utilized as a housing area for personnel involved in Alaska Shield 14 here March 27-April 3, 2014. It is home to more than 100 service members during the exercise. Alaska Shield 14 is an exercise that involves federal, state, local and military agencies, designed to test response and coordination efforts during a disaster and is modeled after the 1964 earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated Alaska.
