KODIAK, Alaska - Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak HC-130 crewmembers load Lydia Anderson, a nursing student at University of Alaska Anchorage, Kodiak College and volunteer simulated patient, onto an Hercules airplane by stretcher during a full-scale Alaska Shield 2014 in Kodiak, Alaska, March 31, 2014. Although the patients in this exercise were simulated, the Hercules aircrews still configured the hold of the aircraft and transported the volunteer patients to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson in Anchorage as if the emergency were real.
