Secretary of Defense visits JBER

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel addresses service members on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, May 28, 2014. The Secretary thanked those serving in Alaska and conveyed the gratitude of President Obama, while noting the continuing strategic importance of JBER to homeland and regional security. Hagel's 14th international trip will focus on Asia and Europe as he travels to Alaska, Romania, Belgium and France, and participates in the annual Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
