Operation Colony Glacier 2014: weather key in mission success
COLONY GLACIER, Alaska -- A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Alaska Army National Guard drops off the 3rd Operations Support Squadron Weather Flight personnel and their gear near Colony Glacier June 17. The weather flight provided vital real-time weather data to aircrew in support of Operation Colony Glacier. The real-time weather data is crucial for aircrew and aircraft safety because weather near glaciers change rapidly and are dangerous. (Photo by Tech. Sgt. Heinz Disch)
