FY2008 Secretary of Defense Environmental Awards

Elmendorf, Fort Richardson, and USFWS collaborated on DoD Legacy funded study of the nesting behavior and habitat selection of Rusty blackbirds, a species on numerous organizations' list of species of concern. Our natural resources staff helped locate 13 nests in two years.
