Operation Warmheart
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Senior Master Sgt. Patrick Julian, 3rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, loads turkeys in a truck to be delivered to families during Operation Warmheart. More than 220 boxes of food went out to nearly 800 military members and their families during the Operation Warmheart food drive put on by the base first sergeants. Each box included a 5-pound bag of potatoes, pie shells, gravy mix, cornbread and muffin mix, pudding and Jello, pumpkin pie and fruit filling, fruit cocktail, cranberry sauce, stuffing, sweet potatoes, suddenly salad and canned vegetables. Enough food was donated to double some of the food items in the boxes. The drive also raised enough food to donate about 750 pounds of potatoes to the Food Bank of Alaska. The Cub Scouts raised approximately $550 during the two-day drive at the Commissary. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Keith Brown)
