Farewell Hercules
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Senior Airman Sandro Cardona, 703rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, deices the a C-130 from 517th Airlift Squadron before it leave for Yokota Air Base, Japan. After 43 years of continuous service in Alaska, the C-130 is leaving to fulfill a reorganization of aircraft basing to make its mission more efficient. The 517th AS is converting C-17s and the C-130s relocating to Yokota AB will replace the "E" models and will add two more "H" models to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, fleet.
