C-17 Dirt Landing at Donnelly Air Strip

DONNELLY LANDING ZONE, Alaska -- A C-17 Globemaster III from the 517th Airlift Squadron kicks up a cloud of dust as it lands at the Donnelly dirt air strip Aug. 24, 2009. The aircraft assisted in deploying 120 Soldiers from the 17th Combat Service Support Battalion on Fort Richardson to Donnelly during Arctic Response. Arctic Response is an Army Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise. Two C-17s flew to Donnelly and delivered five pallets, two Humvees, a trailer, and a passenger carrier.
