Air Force member helps lead the Golden Bears to State Championship victory
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- David Veramontes talks to Willie Highlander, the Bartlett Golden Bears varsity quarterback, during the state championship game at Anchorage football stadium Anchorage, Alaska Oct. 17. Airman 1st Class Veramontes is an F-15 avionics systems specialist with the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at Elmendorf Air Force Base. Veramontes, who is a volunteer coach with the Bears football teams, helped lead the Bears to a 21-3 win over Chugiak Mustangs for the State Championship.
