Master Sgt. Aaron Huber, 140th Calvary, Airborne, looks on as his Halibut wins the biggest fish in Whittier, weighing in at 93.9 pounds, during the first Alaskan Veterans Halibut Fishing Tournament May 21, 2010. The tournament took place in Homer, Valdez and Whittier, and is the communities' way of showing their appreciation to veterans. Forty-two boats volunteered to take 264 veterans fishing in the three cities. A $500 grand prize was given to the participant who caught the biggest fish between the three cities, and a $250 prize was given to the participant who caught the biggest fish in each city.
