19th FS Wins 2009 Raytheon Trophy

The 2009 Raytheon Trophy was awarded to the 19th Fighter Squadron. The mission of the 19th Fighter Squadron is to be the world’s finest fighter squadron, to be at the forefront, on the “cutting edge” of tactical F-15 employment. Being awarded the 2009 Raytheon Trophy on June 4, for the second time since 2000, they proved once again they are the top air-defense and air-superiority squadron in the Air Force. The squadron recently maintained the highest-level alert in Alaska and received an outstanding in the last operational readiness inspection. Squadrons competing for the Raytheon award are graded on air-defense and air-superiority mission performance, operational mission performance, organizational readiness inspection results, training exercise participation, unit achievements and awards, individual achievements and awards and unit incentive programs.
