Medal of Honor recipient Drew Dix talks with Soldiers of 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment (Airborne), during his USO visit with actor Gary Sinise to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Sept. 16. Dix and Sinise were able to talk with military personnel from the Army and Air Force during the visit. The visit allowed JBER members to showcase the Arctic Warriors’ capabilities to Sinise and Dix. The Lieutenant Dan Band, presented by the USO, headlined at Hangar 20, Sept. 16, playing cover tunes ranging from classic rock to country music. Members of the band met with Airmen and Soldiers before their performance, firing M-4 carbines with the 1-501st and flying on a UH-60 Black Hawk with 207th Aviation Regiment, Alaska Army National Guard.
