Slush Cup

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska ??? J.R. Wendler, a contestant in the Hillberg Slush Cup, is rescued from the icy lake water by ski patrollers on standby at the Hillberg Ski Area March 24. Wendler crashed while attempting to ski across a manmade pond during the Slush Cup. The Slush Cup is held annually by the Hillberg Ski Area on JBER.
