Nearly 700 Spartans vie for Expert

Parachute infantryman Spc. Christopher Bennett, Apache Company, 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry Regiment, a native of Skaneatlas, N.Y., fires an M2-HB machine gun as a candidate for the Expert Infantryman Badge on JBER, April 24. The EIB was approved by the Secretary of War October 7, 1943, and is currently awarded to U.S. Army personnel who hold infantry or special forces military occupational specialties.
