JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will host the biennial Arctic Thunder Open House Aug. 8 and 9, 2026, and local and regional media representatives are invited to attend.
To facilitate coverage of this event, we are offering dedicated media access, interview opportunities and prime viewing areas for credentialed journalists and media outlets.
Media access, photo opportunities, and interviews with aircrew (including the Blue Angels and Golden Knights), performers, and base leadership for the 2026 Arctic Thunder Open House will primarily be Saturday, Aug. 8 with premium access for aerial acts. (Media arrival time: [0800]).
Sunday, Aug. 9, will be a secondary media day with limited follow-up interviews and standard coverage access. (Media arrival time: [0800])
Media representatives must RSVP and submit credentialing information no later than 4 p.m., July 8, 2026, by emailing jber.pa.mediaops@us.af.mil. Due to security protocols, uncredentialed media or late submissions will not be granted media access. Please provide the full name, date of birth and media affiliation for each team member attending.
