NEWS RELEASE: Increased exercise activity at JBER

  • Published
  • JBER Public Affairs

Residents on and near Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson can expect increased exercise activity, to include controlled detonations, Giant Voice mass notification system messages, increased aircraft activity, traffic pattern changes and drone sightings through May 15.

Various exercises taking place on JBER will increase noise and air traffic for surrounding communities and the Joint Pacific-Alaska Range Complex.

This activity is part of regularly scheduled, preplanned training designed to maintain readiness and ensure personnel are prepared to respond to mission requirements.

Residents can expect traffic delays and unexpected gate closures during this time. Please use caution while driving on base due to increased pedestrian traffic of civilian and military personnel.

Drones may be used during this period. Anyone who sees a drone is encouraged to report it immediately to the JBER Law Enforcement Desk. Reports can be made by calling 907-552-7070 or visiting the JBER Connect app.
