Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson reminds recreational users that RecAccess permits are based on the calendar year and must be renewed annually to access JBER training lands and designated recreation areas.

RecAccess is JBER’s online system used to manage recreational access for activities such as hiking, hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreation. All recreators 16-years-old and older are required to have a current permit before entering JBER recreation areas.

Recreators must register, renew their permit and check in and out of recreation areas through the RecAccess website at https://jber.recaccess.com. Permits can be accessed digitally or printed and must be carried at all times while recreating on the installation.

The RecAccess system provides real-time updates on area availability, safety notifications and closures to help ensure safe and responsible use of JBER lands. Users are encouraged to review current access requirements and area restrictions prior to entering recreational areas, as access policies may vary depending on location.

Failure to renew a RecAccess permit or properly check in and out of designated areas may result in loss of recreation privileges.
