Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is hosting the 14th annual motorcycle safety and mentorship ride on Friday, June 2. The Knock the Rust Off ride is an all-day event for riders who have installation access, and is geared towards providing experienced motorcycle mentorship, camaraderie, Alaska riding familiarization, proper personal protective equipment education, and motorcycle inspections.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the JBER-R Motorcycle Safety Foundation Pad. Riders must have their license, registration, MSF card, all mandated PPE, a full tank of gasoline, and $5 if they plan to participate in the BBQ lunch after the ride. There will be a bike inspection, a bike blessing, and voluntary rider drills before the ride begins. Required PPE includes a helmet, eye protection, over-the-ankle foot protection, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, pants, and full-fingered gloves or mittens. The ride will end in Wasilla.
