JBER Arctic Thunder Open House 2022

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska – The public is invited to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for the Arctic Thunder Open House July 30 and 31. As always, the open house will include a variety of aviation acts and activities on the installation.
Headlining the event are air demonstrations by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the U.S Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, and several other military demonstration teams. There will also be ground displays, civilian aviators, and a Joint Forces Demonstration which includes the Alaska Air National Guard and U.S. Army paratroopers.
About 70 food vendors and 30 static displays from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, as well as the Royal Australian Air Force will be in attendance. Miss America, Emma Broyles, a native of Anchorage, will also attend.
Media will be given the opportunity to interview event organizers, participants and spectators.
On July 28, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, Tom Larkin, and Melissa Dawn Burns will be available for media engagements from 1 to 4 p.m. These times are only approximate and are subject to change.
Miss America will be preparing for a flight in the back seat with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds July 29 starting at 8 a.m. Media personnel wanting to interview and gather footage of the preparations and aircraft must reach out to the JBER Public Affairs office using the below contact information.
