New ID card requirements for military dependents and retirees

Effective July 1, 2021, expired dependent and retiree ID cards will no longer be accepted for installation access. Dependents and retirees must make an appointment to obtain new USID cards only if their current ID card is expired. 

Dependents and retirees with valid ID cards are not required to replace their legacy, paper-based ID until just prior to the expiration date or the REAL ID implementation date on May, 3 2023, whichever is sooner.
