The 673d Force Support Squadron will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Non-Appropriated Fund Human Resources Applicant Assistance Office at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at the JBER-Richardson Visitor Center.

The NAF HR Applicant Assistance Office will be open from noon to 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

A NAF HR representative will assist prospective employees who do not have base access with NAF employment opportunities. The site will be equipped with a computer workstation for navigating to the hiring site, creating the applicant account profile, scanning and uploading documents, and searching for NAF jobs.

NAF employment is considered federal employment. It differs from federal civil service employment because funds used to pay the salaries of NAF employees come from revenue generating activities staffed by NAF employees.

NAF employment can include child development and youth centers; fitness; auto skills; and arts and crafts centers. Seasonal jobs may include work at recreation and outdoor equipment rental facilities, golf courses and ski hills.

Dec. 2 is the tentative start date for NAF HR to begin announcing open positions on USAJOBS.gov. Current job postings can be found on https://www.nafjobs.org/ under the “open positions” header.

Media who wish to cover the Oct. 28 ceremony should contact the JBER Public Affairs Office by sending an email to jber.pa.mediaops@us.af.mil

or calling (907) 552-8160 before Friday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. and providing the name of the media outlet, the reporter and a phone number.
