Wreaths Across America Event to be Held at JBER

On Saturday, 16 December, 2017, a Wreaths Across America wreath-laying ceremony will be hosted at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

 

Wreaths Across America is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2007 to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992.

 

There will be no public base access to the event, however, media is invited to attend. Those wishing to cover the event will need to contact the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Public Affairs office at 551-8995 by 1600 on Friday, 15 December. A Public Affairs representative will escort outlets from the Fort Richardson gate at approximately 11:30 a.m. for a ceremony start time of noon.  For station planning purposes the ceremony is scheduled to last no longer than 30-minutes.
