JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Residents in and around the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson area may hear elevated levels of training noise as Soldiers from the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division take to the field for live-fire training over the next few weeks.

High-explosive demolition charges up to 114 pounds will be detonated sub-surface Feb. 13-15 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Feb. 21-24 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Artillery rounds will be fired into the Eagle River Flats impact area between 8 a.m. and midnight, Feb. 13-16 and 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Feb. 21-26.
Depending on weather conditions, the resulting explosions from these training events will be heard in the Eagle River and Chugiak areas, as well as across the inlet to the Knik-Goose Bay and Wasilla areas.
