3rd OSS tests landing zone capabilities at home, abroad

In early March, the 3rd Operations Support Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson sent personnel to participate in Exercise Agile Reaper 23-1 under the 3rd Air Expeditionary Wing to test their capabilities in an environment unlike home-station. And for the first time ever in Alaska, on March 23, the 3rd OSS took those same concepts and applied them to a landing zone training scenario to integrate LZOs and cargo aircraft pilots at their home-station airfield.

24 SOW D-Cell, pioneers of the ACE concept, hone arctic skills in Alaska

Agile Combat Employment is one of the most talked-about concepts in the Air Force. The ability to rapidly deploy and establish forward operating locations, manned by multi-capable Airmen, is the way the Air Force is crafting the future of warfare.  The Airmen of the 24th Special Operations Wing, Detachment 1, also known as Deployment Cell or “D-Cell,” have been doing just this for over 60 years.

3rd Munitions Squadron conducts Arctic Warrior, tests ACE/MCA concepts

The 3rd Munitions Squadron developed effective practices to establish a method of building and transporting munitions in support of Agile Combat Employment while employing multi-capable Airmen during the Arctic Warrior exercise Nov. 15 -16.
