673d Security Forces train in 'controlled chaos' July 31, 2017 — The 673d Security Forces Squadron conducted active-shooter training July 18 and 25 with approximately 160 members and 40 volunteers in hostage scenarios to better their response and handling of a variety of high-stress circumstances. Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony 2017 April 21, 2017 — Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson thanks the community’s outgoing volunteers during the Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony April 18, 2017. The ceremony acknowledged 240 Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipients, and together the JBER community volunteered more than 82,000 hours. JBADD continues to reduce drunk driving on base October 27, 2016 — Individuals going out to drink on the weekend should always have a plan to get back home safely, whether it be by designated driver or a reliable taxi. When the initial plan fails, Joint Base Against Drunk Driving provides a free and anonymous lift home. MORE

Support youth sports August 31, 2016 — Summertime has ended and most children have traded their relaxing day-time hours for the hustle and bustle of school and homework. Along with the children’s added responsibilities of getting good grades, many parents also see an uptick in duties as they support good study habits and help out with projects. During this squeeze on a person’s daily schedule, it becomes more evident that parent-coaches and young athletes still participate in youth sports for more reasons than just ‘something to do’. MORE
