COLONEL DEAN A. CLOTHIER Colonel Dean A. Clothier is the Vice Commander, 688th Information Operations Wing, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. In this capacity, he leads over 1,500 professionals in developing, training, exercising and testing Information operations tactics, techniques and procedures; analyzing and mitigating U.S. cyberspace vulnerabilities; integrating emerging information Dominance capabilities in support of Air Force, Joint and DoD warfighters; engineering, deploying and delivering survivable and resilient cyber infrastructure (deployed and in-garrison); and integrates communications and computer systems designed to increase the combat effectiveness of Air Force and DoD elements. Colonel Clothier is a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He was the Commander, 39th Information Operations Squadron, Hurlburt Field, Florida, the USAF's IO and Cyber advanced operations training unit. Prior assignments include Operations Officer for the 453rd Electronic Warfare Squadron and Assistant Director of Operations for the stand-up of both the 42nd Electronic Combat Squadron and 563rd Flying Training Squadron. He served a Pentagon staff tour as Branch Chief, EW Readiness and Training, HQ AF Directorate of Operational Capability Requirements. He has flown combat missions in Iraq and served as the JFC's Command EWO in Afghanistan. He holds Master Cyberspace Operations and Master Navigator Wings.
