The 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron changed command, June 27, 2018, as U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Michelle Shicks relinquished command of the squadron to U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. James Stone at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, before gathered family members, distinguished guests, military officers and enlisted personnel. A change of command ceremony is a military tradition that represents formal transfer of authority and responsibility from one officer to another. The 962nd AACS aircrews carry on the squadron’s heritage of vigilance with a continuous commitment to Operation Noble Eagle and Northern Sovereignty Operations while taking part in multinational and joint exercises such as Red Flag, Northern Edge, Valiant Shield and Cope North.
