Name: TSgt Jody Hernandez

Unit: 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron

Job Description: TSgt Jody Hernandez is a Personnelist serving as the NCOIC of the squadron Commander’s Support Staff. She linchpins all administrative tasks in support of 155 US and Canadian personnel executing the Alaskan NORAD Region's air sovereignty mission in PACAF's premiere E-3 AWACS combat operations squadron. In addition to driving more than 15 of the squadron's vital administrative processes and providing top-notch customer service, Jody leads and trains four enlisted aircrew CSS augmentees, teaching them the intricacies of AF-level personnel systems and policies.

Previous Assignments: Lackland AFB, Texas

Accomplishments: During the last several months, TSgt Hernandez shared some of the squadron's administrative practices with the 673 ABW's Military Personnel Section, teaching two classes on tracking and updating member TDY histories and earning praise from the MPS Flight Commander. Back at the unit, TSgt Hernandez's CSS was noticed by 3rd Wing leadership for improving administrative on-time rates and by squadron leaders as always providing friendly, responsive, and accurate customer service to the 962 Eagles. Finally, she "pinch-hit" on multiple occasions as the squadron's Support Flight NCOIC, delivering an intelligent leadership approach to 26 Airmen serving across 6 different AFSCs.

In her off-time, Jody is an involved parent of two children and loving wife of 11 years to her husband. She enjoys fitness activities, time with the family, and educational pursuits. TSgt Hernandez is truly an outstanding Air Force non-commissioned officer and we are proud to call her our August Chief's Choice recipient!
