On Jan. 23, information detailing the number of Airmen eligible for separation in each Air Force career field was released. Involuntary and voluntary programs' eligibility criteria were also updated.

Some Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson career fields heavily represented in the separation eligibility matrices are flight engineer, airborne operations, airborne mission systems, aircraft loadmaster, aerospace ground equipment, aircraft structural maintenance, munitions systems, aircraft armament systems, pavements and construction equipment, water and fuels system maintenance, services, security forces, mobility pilot and developmental engineer.

The enlisted and officer Voluntary Separation Pay eligibility has changed to include the ranks of senior airman through senior master sergeant and second lieutenant through lieutenant colonel. Of these individuals, those between six and 20 years Total Active Federal Military Service, who have served at least five years of continuous active duty by Jan. 31, 2015, are now eligible for VSP. The window for enlisted applications is open now, officer applications will be accepted starting Feb. 6 and both application windows will close on May 1.

Airmen not eligible for VSP can apply for an Active Duty Service Commitment waiver to curtail their current service obligation.

The officer Force Shaping Board, officer Reduction in Force and Temporary Early Retirement Authority programs have all seen updates to eligibility. The officer FSB and RIF boards now include the ranks of second lieutenant through lieutenant colonel in specified career fields and year groups. TERA eligibility is determined by career field and year group, and requires both enlisted members and officers to have more than 15 but less than 20 years of service.

For details on these eligibility changes or to see how specific career fields are affected, please view the respective personnel services delivery memoranda and eligibility matrices at https://mypers.af.mil. By-name eligibility listings have been made available to units. Contact your chain of command if you are unsure if you are eligible for these programs.

The 673d Force Support Squadron has also created a SharePoint site to help Airmen access force-management program information. The website has links to frequently asked questions, briefing slides, contact information and directions for accessing updated material on the myPers website. An email was sent earlier this week with the link to the FM site. If you did not receive this, email jber.mps@us.af.mil for the site information or ask your chain of command for assistance.
