Fitlinxx is a database used to monitor the hours of exercise, calories burned and weight lost when getting Fit 2 Fight. Since its inception, Fitlinxx creation has been an invaluable tool in helping Airmen keep track of their cardio, weight gain or loss, and how much they are lifting.

Elmendorf has made this program easy to access either at the gym or on the internet. Fitlinxx serves as an accountability factor for those who work out. "It helps knowing there is someone other than yourself keeping track of how often you exercise," said Tom Lawson, the Elmendorf Fitness Center director. While keeping accountability, it also allows you to customize your workouts.

There are various machines available to use with the program already installed. There are currently 108 cardio machines and 39 weight machines with the program built in to help keep track of the miles covered, calories burned and weight lifted. The monitors on the weight machines also let you know the range of motion you should be using and help you to control the weight by setting a recommended speed you should be lifting at.
There are two main kiosks to log into your profile at the main entrance of the fitness center.

"Fitlinxx has become a major asset, not only to Airmen who work out, but also to commanders and PTLs (physical training leaders)," said Mr. Lawson. With this program, PTLs and commanders are able to keep track of them and pull their reports to help keep track of their progress.

Many bases Air Force wide use the Fitlinxx system including all bases of the Pacific Air Forces. Although the point system is no longer used due to military budget cuts, it is still an advantage that the Air Force offers.

"On Elmendorf alone, there are 3,000 to 3,500 Airmen, civilians, dependents, guard and reserve that use it," said Mr. Lawson.

Signing up is just as easy as using it; active-duty members contact your PTL and they will be able to get you signed up and in the system. Guard/Reserve, civilians and dependents will need to go to the front customer service desk at the gym and ask about Fitlinxx.
