The 732nd Aircraft Mobility Squadron was recognized as the top maintenance unit for the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Falling under the Air Mobility Command, the tenant unit earned the maintenance effectiveness award for the first time in 14 years beating out five other en-route squadrons within the Pacific area of responsibility. This honor is awarded to the unit's management of resources and its contributions to the mission in both peace and wartime.

"This award just validates the incredible attention to detail that our Huskies have and their ability to move the Air Mobility Command mission during the most austere weather," said Lt. Col Mark Wootan, 732nd AMS commander. "It's a testament to all of the hard work that our Huskies put in to their craft every single day of the year. It's also a tribute to the wonderful relationship we share with our 3rd Wing brothers and sisters and the support we receive from Elmendorf's leadership across the board."

The Husky maintainers' en-route support contributed to the success of AMC's commercial and strategic airlift mission in the Pacific theater.

The squadron's many accomplishments include earning an "Outstanding/Excellent" respectively during their 2007 Headquarters AMC Logistics Standardization Evaluation Program/En-Route Readiness Inspection.

The 732nd AMS was also awarded an outstanding in the Wing's annual safety inspection and an "Excellent" rating from the HQ AMC Inspector General for explosive handling.

In 2007, the Huskies launched and recovered more than 1,200 missions transporting nearly 16 million pounds of cargo all while maintaining a 96.4 percent departure reliability rate. These accomplishments led to a more than a 4 percent increase from the previous fiscal year.

The 732nd maintainers will now compete against all the other units in AMC for the command's maintenance effectiveness award.
