Elmendorf selected as pilot site for new hiring process Published June 24, 2009 ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Elmendorf has been selected by Air Force officials to be a pilot site for a new Defense Department federal hiring process. The Enterprise Staffing Solutions will replace USA Jobs and standardize varying methods of federal hiring for all DOD branches. The goal is to increase the applicant's opportunities for federal employment and the manager's opportunities to select employees from a pool of qualified candidates. The Civilian Personnel Office, Avue Technologies, and the Military and Family Readiness Center has teamed up and provided training sessions for this new application process and an opportunity to learn more about the new process. There is no shortage of assistance in helping you get started. Avue is available to answer questions related to tech support through the e-mail function on the Web site. Avue representatives will soon be available by a toll-free number for applicants. Civilian Personnel is the lead of the process and can answer applicant's questions. The Military and Family Readiness Center offers assistance with résumé development for all levels of experience and computer access. Civilian Personnel will announce the start date of the process once it has been established. The program is scheduled to last for six months. Once the pilot begins, all DOD federal jobs in Alaska will hire through ESS. Although the pilot has not yet officially started, the ESS Web site is up and running.
