Air Force Ball: Dancing back through time Published Sept. 9, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Christopher Gross 3rd Wing Public Affairs ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- Elmendorf Airmen can dance their way back through history Sept. 26 at the Egan Center in Anchorage, Alaska. This year's Air Force Ball, hosted by Col. Thomas Bergeson, 3rd Wing commander, will celebrate the wing's 90-year history beginning at 6 p.m. With about 800 people expected to attend, tickets are being sold for $45. Purchases can be made by contacting a unit representative. The attire is mess dress for Airmen and formal for civilians. "We have the Anchorage Historical Aviation Museum donating several statics and historic Alaskan memorabilia for display," said Capt. Cindy Foley, 962nd Airborne Air Control Squadron electronic combat officer and event coordinator. "This is going to be a memorable event, if they haven't been to this scale of an event. It's going to be first class, and an evening they can enjoy," Foley said. "It's a great time to have the whole base come together and enjoy good food, and a good evening," she said. "We're going to celebrate the wing and the Airmen that have brought it this far."
