Elmendorf Airmen can now log on to Twitter to get updates on base happenings from their personal computers.

Anything from updated weather and road conditions to brief and informative messages will be posted by the 3rd Wing Public Affairs office on Twitter www.twitter.com/3WGPA .

Nowadays, the internet has grown so large it seems no-one can contain its vast hold. With the new technologies that it brings forward every year it develops and grows stronger.

Twitter allows its users to pick and choose other Twitter accounts to "follow" meaning that user would get the post and up to date information from every other account they follow.

Twitter also accounts for the constant movement of today's populous. Members can have current accounts updates forwarded to their cell phone as text messages.

Servicemembers are reminded to be intelligent and safe about information posted to any social media sites while following guidelines the Pacific Air Forces has already set in place.

With this open forum Airmen will be able to describe what they like about updates and new systems and what they dislike. In the end it will be giving the power to the Airmen. This will also allow for leaders to review Airmen's feedbacks on base activities as well allowing a new era of development.

With the social media and the internet adding more changes and challenges to the world those who choose to adapt to the new changes will be the ones working to make a better future.
