Airman found dead in Fairbanks Published Jan. 5, 2010 ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- An Airman assigned to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, was found dead in Fairbanks, Alaska, Jan. 4. At 8:50 p.m., Fairbanks Police discovered the Airman in his vehicle in a parking lot unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. The incident is under investigation by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. The Airman's name is being withheld until the next of kin have been notified.
