Game recap: Fight to the finish as playoff continue

ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska --  The Coast Guard and the 525th Fighter Squadron battled it out during an intramural playoff basketball game Jan. 14.

Both teams came out strong making a high percentage of shots from the start. However, the CG was up 10 points at one point in the first half, but that didn't stop the 525th FS from coming back and putting them within three points of tying it up, going into halftime with the score 36-33.

At the start of the second half the 525th FS came out strong. They took an early second half lead with the score 43-40.

Even though they drug themselves back into the game they failed to stay consistent, committing numerous turnovers late in the game, which might have cost them the victory.

The closest they would come would be with the score 64-61 with 31.7 seconds left in regulation, but it was again another turnover that would cost them the game.

In the end the CG would come out on top of the 525th FS by the score of 66-61.
