3rd Wing commander selected for promotion

Col. Thomas W. Bergeson, 3rd Wingcommander, has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general.

Bergeson assumed command of the 3rd Wing August 18, 2008. His prior assignments include flying duties as a Weapons School F-15 instructor pilot, flight commander, operations officer, squadron commander, operations group commander, vice wing commander, executive officer to the Air Combat Command commander and as the Chief of Aviation for Multi-National Forces Iraq's Strategic Operations Directorate. Bergeson is the 100th commander at Elmendorf.

"I'm humbled that the Air Force has placed special trust and confidence in me by this promotion," said Bergeson. "I owe my family, my AF leadership, and all Arctic Warriors tremendous thanks for their service and support...no one gets promoted by their actions alone."
