In addition to year-round school physicals offered weekdays, the 3rd Medical Group will be offering school sports physicals July 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with no appointment necessary.

These physicals are available to all TRICARE eligible military dependents in the grades of kindergarten to 12th grade. Please bring your child's military identification and immunization record, as vaccinations will also be available. If your child's school requires paperwork or forms to be completed, please bring them as well. You can schedule your school sports physical by calling 580-2778 to guarantee a specific time and avoid long waits, but walk-ins are also welcome.

In conjunction with the school sports physical appointments, the 3rd MDG is sponsoring a health fair open to all enrollees. Not only will healthcare information be available, but various organizations across Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and the local community will be on-hand on the first floor fo the hospital from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Specialists will answer questions like:

· Do you know how to stay safe in a fire?
· Do you know how to stay safe around a moose or a bear?
· Does your child's car seat fit properly?
· Do you know how to properly wear your bike helmet?
· Do you know how to be safe in a boat and wear your life vest?

The fair also feature a fire engine, ambulance, the D.A.R.E. squad car, and military working dogs.

There's also an opportunity for our female enrollees. The Providence Imaging Centers "Mobile Mammogram Coach" is scheduled to be at the health fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are over age of 40 and it has been at least one year since your last mammogram, you can obtain your mammogram using this service.

Providence has requested you call them at 212-3151 to schedule your appointment for July 17, or if you have any questions. Mammograms will be completed in the "coach" parked in the 3rd MDG parking lot.
