Playing from the tournament loser's bracket didn't slow the Buckner Physical Fitness Center inner tube water polo team against an undermanned U.S. Army Alaska team, Nov. 10, at the Buckner pool.

BPFC claimed the first championship game 15-7, forcing a second game.

The second game went much the same as the first, as the Buckner team took advantage of their perpetual power play.

If USARAK, playing with four swimmers and a goalie, moved their players into the offensive zone to try to score, they left their goalie unprotected from BPFC's five-swimmer attack.

If USARAK kept their players back on defense, their offense faced double and triple team attacks from the BPFC swimmers.

The Buckner team came out on top in the second game also, 16-10.

USARAK had been undefeated in the tournament. BPFC dropped their first match to A Company, 307th Integrated Tactical Signal Battalion, before going on a six-game run to claim the water polo title.

Ongoing winter sports now include intramural basketball, indoor soccer and broomball.

February will see the start of the intramural volleyball season, as well as slalom ski competition and the annual arctic skills competition. For more information, call 384-1304.
