The afternoon of Jan. 5 would not be a good one for the men of the 673d Civil Engineers Squadron over-30 intramural basketball team. With already having a rough season, they added another loss, putting them at 4-8.

The 673d Medical Support Squadron started off slow against the CES, with neither team putting up many points early in the game. However, that would all change after MDSS found a groove and stuck with it to put the CES away with a score of 63 to 39.

The CES carried a small lead about halfway through the first half, but the MDSS picked it up toward the end of the first half taking the lead with the score 24 to 20.

The CES did not look ready to play at the start of the second half, allowing the MDSS to go on a 10 point scoring spree before making their first basket. Even some sloppy play by the MDSS, where they turned the ball over several times, didn't help the CES; they were unable to find a rhythm and missed a majority of their shots.

A big reason for the MDSS success could be due to how well they passed the ball around; they had four players in double digits, the leader being Nate Lewis who had 16 of the team's 63 points.

Jeremy Coleman was the leading scorer for the CES scoring 19 of the team's total 39 points, and the only member of his team to score in the double digits.

The undefeated MDSS, 12-0, will play their next game Jan. 14 against the 673d Communications Squadron and the CES hope to improve their record Jan. 7 when they play the 517th Airlift Squadron.
