JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- Inner tube water polo season is just getting underway on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, but it's already a hit.

"People enjoy it a lot. We get lots of comments from people who said they didn't expect it to be as fun as it is," said Comptonne Byers, a lifeguard at Buckner Physical Fitness Center.

The season runs through Nov. 23 with matches Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Buckner PFC hopes to have another season, probably in the spring.
