JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- In order to further protect the health and safety of our technicians, our customers, and the community, the MPF has been authorized to implement several exemptions pertaining to CAC/ID and DEERS.
Effective immediately, we will be enforcing the following exemptions for both the People Center and Bldg. 600 DEERS locations:
Common Access Cards (CACs)
- CACs will only be reissued if they are expiring within the next 30 days.
- CACs will not be reissued for the purposes of updating printed information (i.e. name change, promotion).
- CACs will not be reissued for civilians transitioning between components (e.g. AF to Army employment).
Uniformed Services ID Cards (USIDs)

The Uniformed Services ID CARDS (Retiree, Dependents, DAV) USID cards which expired on or after 01 Jan 2020 are authorized and valid for continued benefit use through June 30, 2021 Minimum age for dependent IDs has been raised from 10 to 14 years old.
- Mobilized Reserves (to include ANG) and their eligible dependents will continue use of the reserve USID to obtain active duty benefits.
DEERS
- Family member enrollment/eligibility updates will be completed virtually.
Both DEERS locations will continue to assist customers by appointment only, with the exception of CAC unlocks. Exceptions to the guidance due to extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.
