Name: SSgt Robert Payne

Unit: 773 Logistics Readiness Squadron

Job Description: Ground Transportation Operations Center Dispatcher

Time in service: 7 years

Previous Assignments: Whiteman AFB and Osan AB

Accomplishments: SSgt Robert Payne has been key to the success of the 773d Logistics Readiness Squadron’s Ground Transportation Flight.  He serves as a shift supervisor, leading 10 Airmen to fulfill requirements for 58 joint mission partners on JBER.  Additionally, he was a key player during the recent ARCTIC ANVIL exercise where he oversaw the movement/deployment of 2.5K Soldiers and 1.5K pieces of equipment in <14 days.  This was the fastest/largest no-notice Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise in JBER history.  His leadership enabled his team to win the 673 ABW’s Team of the 3d Qtr ’19.  Additionally, he identified a security breach/hole in the fence on the base perimeter and called security forces.  His keen attention to detail contributed to the investigation of an on-base security incident and ensured the base perimeter was not compromised.  He is a great supervisor, leader, and NCO.  He is the definition of what an NCO should be in the USAF.
