JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- The 673d Force Support Squadron will host a free Summer Kick-off and Military Appreciation Picnic June 16, 2017, at the Buckner Fields from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The event is a chance to start another Alaska summer off right and bring the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson community together,” said Steve Sarandos, 673d FSS marketing director.
The event is open to all those with access to JBER and will offer several activities, including a speedball course, bouncy houses, and an obstacle course for children.
The U.S. Army Alaska's 9th Army Band and the USO Show Troupe will perform alternately throughout the event and a DJ will be playing music during all breaks.
Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and more will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
An information fair showcasing several base-supporting agencies will display what the JBER community provides to service members, civilians and families, Sarandos said.
