Army mechanic builds monster RV on military surplus chassis
Ronning remotely starts the truck from the comfort of the living area. Ronning lived in the RV before his most recent deployment to Afghanistan; at 18 feet long, the living area even trumps some containerized housing units, or CHUs, troops are familiar with from deployments – and even has a full bathroom. The build took about three months, he said, but the “deuce” can run on almost any petroleum product, and can support up to two people indefinitely. (U.S. Air Force photo/Jeremiah Erickson)
