Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Pazz

Command Sgt. Maj. Eric Pazz hails from Clio, Michigan and entered service with the United States Army as an infantryman in June 1998.

Pazz has served in all leadership positions within the infantry from rifleman to command sergeant major, with broadening assignments as a senior Ranger instructor, senior military science Instructor, and airborne task force senior observer/controller trainer.

Pazz’ stateside assignments include the 5th & 6th Ranger training battalions, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, Eastern Washington University, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, and operations group at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California.

His overseas assignments include the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 1st Squadron 91st Cavalry Regiment, both in the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team and the V Corps Long Surveillance Company.

Pazz has deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Baltic States and Eastern Europe.

Pazz’s awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal for Valor, a Bronze Star Medal for Service, Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, ARCOM for Valor, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Basic Instructor Badge, German Parachutist Badge (Gold), Moldovan Parachutist Badge, and Spanish Parachutist Badge.

Pazz has completed every level of NCO education and holds a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a Master’s Degree in organizational leadership.
