Command Sgt. Maj. Vern B. Daley

Command Sgt. Maj. Daley enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 2, 1989. He completed Infantry one-station unit training as an anti-armor infantryman at Fort Moore, Georgia.

Daley has served in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and regular Army for more than 32 years in various airborne, light, and Stryker infantry assignments throughout the United States and overseas. He has held leadership positions as a team leader, squad leader, section leader, platoon sergeant, first sergeant, battalion command sergeant major, and brigade sergeant major. His time in the U.S. Army includes service with A Co 1-167 Infantry, Army National Guard; HHD 2-152 AR ANG; A Co 1-20 SFG(A); D Co 3-327 Infantry at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; D Co 1-325 AIR at Fort Liberty, North Carolina; D Co 1-503 Infantry in the Republic of Korea; B Co and D Co 2-11 Infantry at Fort Moore, Georgia; D Co 3-509 Infantry (Airborne), B Co and HHC 1-501 Infantry (Airborne), and HHC 4/25 Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) at JBER, Alaska.

Since his promotion to sergeant major in 2012, his assignments have included operations sergeant major, 5-1 CAV, 1/25 SBCT and command sergeant major, 3-21 IN, 1/25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Wainwright, Alaska; command sergeant major, 193rd Infantry Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; infantry branch sergeant major, EPMD, Human Resources Command, and command management branch sergeant major, SMMD, Human Resources Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky; and most recently as sergeant major, PEO Soldier at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He is currently serving as the command sergeant major for U.S. Army Alaska at JBER, Alaska.

Daley is a graduate of Excelsior College with a Bachelor of Science degree. His military education includes the Basic Airborne Couse, Total Army Instructors Course, and all level of the Non-Commissioned Officer Education System. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 62, the Nominative Leaders Course, and the Strategic Broadening Program at the United States Army War College.
