Colonel CHRISTOPHER A. TOOMAN

Colonel Christopher A. Tooman is the Chief of Staff, Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Columbus Ohio. He serves as a principal advisor to the Commander and Deputy Commander on operations and readiness matters. In this role, he helps lead 2,500 joint military and civilian professionals in delivering repair parts to all military services at 37 worldwide locations to include three DLA Depot Level Reparable detachments, four detachments supporting U.S. Naval Shipyards and at deployed units. DLA Land and Maritime’s core functions include purchasing materiel, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining technical data and assuring quality conformance of approximately two million spare and repair parts used by more than 19,000 military units and federal and civilian agencies.

Col Tooman is a graduate of Officer Training School where he earned his commission in 2000 after serving over 11 years as an enlisted maintainer. He is a career aircraft maintenance officer who has held maintenance positions supporting E-3, MQ-1, A-10, F-16, and AFSOC aircraft. Col (S) Tooman previously commanded squadrons in CENTCOM, PACAF and AETC. He has deployed in support of Operations RESTORE HOPE, SOUTHERN WATCH, and IRAQI/ENDURING FREEDOM.
